Update 4/22/97: A handful of net trash have convinced malicious and/or incompetent/gullible individuals at gte.net usenet dept. (webmaster@gte.net, MsgAdmin@gte.net and security@gte.net) to cancel my gte.net account on their behalf. I was using the gte.net account in monitoring the cancel messages from the hacker trash in Florida. My account was canceled due to alleged news abuse. I hope this malicious action by GTE.NET will now make them legally responsible for their blatant and ongoing publishing of hard core child pornography from their usenet servers. See http://www.prime.org/legal
mary-ann.txt Click on file for an email sent to me along with other harassing email by psi.net showing a PSINet vice president ordering the prime.org access to usenet blocked on behalf of lying net trash. This will be a major exhibit in the upcoming lawsuit against PSINet
Also, PSINet has been making fraudulent and unauthorized charges to the PreRapture American Express Card while deliberately and maliciously continuing their breach of contract. Legal action against PSINet is planned just as soon as we get set up with another ISP. Also, PSINet atty. John LoBalbo, threatening further breach of contract, extorted censorship of an email that was posted here where Mary-Ann Carolan ordered our usenet access blocked on behalf of the net trash. That will be one of the main exhibits in the lawsuit. The email came to me in the flow of harassing email that PSInet was deliberately flooding me with on behalf of the net trash.
If this seems rough, please consider what these net trash are doing. They are attempting to censor me and others from publishing on public usenet newsgroups, or they are supporting these activities knowingly. These trash sites that do not cease and desist from their malicious activities can eventually expect to be co-defendants in a civil action. It should be no surprise that trash like fdma.com, mpcs.com and Howard Goldstein would be involved in something like this, but it is somewhat surprising that some of these other sites would have such shabby, irresponsible management.
flcan.txt Just a few sample cancels from hacker trash in Florida.
(Notice how they were canceling articles by and for Floridians and job offers to Floridians among other things.)
frivcomp.txt Here are some frivolous complaints to psi.net regarding my reposting
of illegally cancelled articles that appear to be connected to the forgeries of sprint.
These are from hgoldste@mpcs.com, scheidell@fdma.com and pavanas@nomina.ccia.com . I
believe that anyone can see the connection between these individuals and the so called
sprint cancels. Also notice how goldstein set Reply-To of his complaints to one of the
prime.org addresses as email harassment.

This is an informal FAQ regarding cancel.watch, an informal community service of prime.org.
It should be stated here at the beginning that it is not the purpose or intent of cancel.watch to ever interfere with or in any way hinder legitimate, honest, spam cancelers.
1. What does cancel.watch do?
Cancel Watch simply works against content based canceldogs (like scheidell@fdma.com) and certain regional bully types that fancy public, unmoderated newsgroups to be their personal kingdoms in which to cancel articles at whim (a la Isley), scheidell@fdma.com , AND the trash ISPs that support these canceldogs. (Isley has lost his Emory account(s) and Emory is not involved in any of his net abuse.) It also appears that several of the newsfeeds for fdma.com have wised up regarding scheidell's abuse and censorship. Scheidell's net abuse and removal of other people's postings has decreased remarkably, especially his canceling articles on behalf of the "promisekeepers" cult.
2. How does cancel.watch do it?
It is the primary practice of cancel.watch to simply notify the victims of "illegal" cancels, so that these individuals can seek relief. If an ISP continues after notification to support a known canceldog (like scheidell@fdma.com or the trash at mpcs.com) then their information is also provided to the victim (and to the site that is feeding them).
Cancel Watch simply brings abusive activities to light.
3. Why bother?
This originally came about as a direct result of seeing the rampant canceling of public usenet articles by scheidell@fdma.com on behalf of various religious cult groups that he is sympathetic with. Then it was noticed that he also fancied himself owner and censor of the public, unmoderated, Florida groups. It was also noted that a Mr. Isley in Atlanta was canceling articles at whim in public unmoderated newsgroups.
Once Cancel.Watch got started and the thank you emails came rolling in, it became obvious that a good percentage of the cancel victims were not spammers, but just regular people seeking employment and business people many even trying to do the right thing and limit advertising to "for sale" groups, and job ads to "job" groups.
4. What about spammers?
Real spammers already know that they are being canceled, and those are handled by several honest, recognized spam cancelers who are not regional bullies or religious content based cancelers.
5. What about NoCem?
NoCem is itself a new form of article cancel that is openly abused for purposes of personal vendetta and extortion. The "management" appears to be nothing more than underground hackers. Net trash are running a "Winterizer" censorship program which again shows the irresponsibility of the NoCem system.
Cancel Watch recommends that any victim of abuse of the NoCem system for personal vendetta, contact the sites publishing the malicious harassment, defamation and censorship. If that fails, then publicize their activities and consider availing yourself of civil relief against the malicious trash and the trash ISPs that continue (after due notice) to publish the NoCems for the trash sites. (such as primenet, mpcs.com, uoregon.edu etc.)
If the NoCem situation was being run responsibly, it would be another matter, but there is really no need for such a thing to begin with. The first good lawsuit should clean that mess up.
6. Has cancel.watch ever failed in getting a cancelbot closed down?
No, not really, but since some people appear to have no life or identity beyond exercising editorial control over portions of public usenet groups (a la isley, scheidell@fdma.com etc), they keep coming back. It is another situation that will probably require involving the courts to clean up permanently.
7. How can cancel.watch be so effective?
It is the strategy of cancel.watch to simply provide the cancel victim with information so that first of all, the individual is aware that they are being illegally censored from public newsgroups, and to provide them with information about who is doing it to them should they choose to take any action to defend themselves.
8. Is cancel.watch aware of the content of any article that they notify about?
No, not unless the article title would provide that information. Again, it is the desire of cancel.watch to stay out of the way of legitimate, honest, spam cancelers. Cancel.watch attempts to "pass over" obvious cases of abuse and spam.
9. What do some of the thank you emails say?
Many are wanting more information about how and where to file a complaint. One was from an individual who was trying to find employment for a friend who was getting ready to move to Florida. Many are from honest business people who were trying to offer a product to Florida or multiple states. Many are individuals who are really angry, shocked, confused, and hurt to find out that they have been censored without cause.
10. How many are from daemons bouncing mail because the address was fake?
A good percentage, but in those cases, no one is notified and no harm done.
11. Do you notify ISPs?
Yes, if requested to. At least one has asked to be notified of any fdma.com scheidell cancels via their system. Some ISPs dishonestly label the notification "harassment" and they are just considered as accessories and their feeds are notified and they are listed to the victims as accessories.
12. What does cancel.watch do in one short sentence?
Cancel.watch simply notifies the victims of cancel bullies of how to defend themselves.
Cancel.watch
